A public interest litigation petition has been filed in the Madras High Court Bench here seeking a direction to collect samples of fried chicken sold under different brand names of international chain of outlets and subject them to quality tests at a government laboratory in Chennai. Petitioner R. Devarishi also sought for a direction to the Centre and State governments to withdraw licences granted to the outlets if tests confirm the presence of harmful pathogens in the fried chicken sold by them.
