Motivating students to exercise their voting right in a fair way, Collector L. Subramanian administered a pledge to them on the occasion of the National Voters’ Day at Lady Doak College here on Sunday.

Students from various city colleges attended the awareness programme organised to stress the need to exercise voting rights and fair voting practices. Folk performances, skits, roadshows and rallies at the taluk level were organised for the last one week, targeting the public with the slogan “Easy registration and easy updation”.

“Special emphasis was given on youngsters above the age of 18 urging them to enrol in the voters list and participate in the voting process,” Mr Subramanian said.
