Man murders wife

Panchavarnam, 35, was allegedly murdered by her husband Murugan at their house in Karumbalai in the small hours of Tuesday.

The police said that Murugan, who was a shepherd in Perambalur district, had returned home a few weeks back. He had been quarrelling with his wife, who was working for Madurai Corporation, suspecting her fidelity for some time now.

At around 2 a.m., he crushed her head with a boulder killing her on the spot. A few years back, he had stabbed one of his relatives, suspecting him to be friendly with his wife.

The Anna Nagar police have arrested the man.
