Madurai VHP leader held

A Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) functionary, ‘Chinmaya’ Somasundaram, and his personal security officer, Vignesh Kumar, have been booked on assault charge. The duo, along with advocate Sivaraman, had gone to a hotel at Ayyankottai near Vadipatti. They picked up a quarrel with manager P. Ramakrishnan (50) for putting up a rainwater harvesting structure in an adjacent land belonging to a temple. Vignesh Kumar had beaten up the manager. The complainant said that both Somasundaram and Sivaraman demanded money from him.
