Law students should dispel the wrong image the society has on lawyers, said Justice M. Jaichandren at a orientation programme held at the Government Law College here on Thursday for I-year Bachelor of Law students.
“Lawyers, judges and the students of law should work together to uphold justice. Law students serve the people and the community at large by social service, utilising the skills learnt in the classrooms,” the judge said. He also advised the students against resorting to unlawful means of protests.
“Freedom of expression does not mean stoning of buses or staging of road blockades. The students of law are a privileged lot who can have a third dimension about the issues. Students should eat, drink and dream law, besides lending a helping hand to those in distress,” he said.

Justice Jaichandren further said that the students should be sincere and honest in thbeir career and must make a difference in the society. Principal T. Johnson was present.
