Combination of academic and on-the-job training to be given

HCL Technologies, a 7-billion USD Information Technology and software development outsourcing company, will screen students with Plus Two qualification here on Friday and Saturday (June 2 and 3) for recruiting 100 students under its ‘Tech Bee Early Career Training Programme’.

The students to be selected under this scheme will be trained for 12 months to work in the information technology sector.

Students appearing for this selection to be held at Hotel Apple Tree on North Bypass Road, Vannarpet in Palayamkottai between 9.30 a.m. and 6 p.m. should have passed Plus Two in the academic years 2015 – 2016 and 2016 - 2017 with a minimum of 85% marks with mathematics as one of the subjects. Students who will be selected for this year-long programme after counselling, online test and personal interview will get trained in skills to do the job of a software engineer with a monthly stipend of ₹ 10,000.

“The Tech Bee Earlier Career Training programme that would provide a combination of academic training for 9 months and on-the-job training for 3 months in the hi-tech facilities of Siva Subramania Nadar College of Engineering, Chennai, will make the successful students self-reliant. The successful students, who will be evaluated throughout the training programme, will get placed in the HCL Technologies with the starting salary of ₹ 2.20 lakh per annum,” Srimathi Shivashankar, Vice-President, HCL Technologies, told reporters here on Thursday.

Though the selected candidates will have to pay ₹ 2.30 lakh as fee, those who score 90% will be given cent per cent fee waiver and the score between 85% and 90% will fetch 50% course fee waiver.

“The students need not pay the fee directly to us before the beginning of the training wherein they will be trained in agile technologies. Since we’ve entered into agreements with two private banks, the financial institutions will give ₹ 2.30 lakh as loan per candidate and the borrowers will have to pay this amount only from their third year of employment. The Equated Monthly Instalment will get deducted from their salary for a period of 5 or 7 years,” Ms. Srimathi said.
