“This is a first-of-its-kind training session to be held here for the benefit of unemployed youth, especially from economically weaker sections of society. Since we are going to rope in professional photographers and videographers, who have worked with the latest cameras, the training session will be a boon,” says S. Nambiraj, Director, IOBRSETI.

The institute has to date produced over 2,500 entrepreneurs in 75 batches, mostly from poverty-stricken rural families.

Apart from imparting training in four-wheeler driving, basic computer operations, air-conditioner and refrigerator mechanism, mobile phone servicing, tailoring, toy making, the institute also offer trainings in making 106 home products such as jams, pickles, candles, soaps and shampoos.

It also conducts yoga and motivational sessions.

Mr.Nambiraj believes that the rural men and women need a helping hand to boost their self-confidence. “Once their self-confidence and self-esteem go up after motivational sessions, they respond and perform really well,” he says.

IOBRSETI follows up by monitoring the trainees after they start their business activities.

When IOBRSETI started its tailoring training programme at Pottalpudur on Tuesday, there was an overwhelming response from women, who had hitherto been earning low incomes from beedi rolling.

“We expect an unprecedented response for the forthcoming training session (on videography and photography). We can also arrange for bank loans for suitable candidates for starting their studio or edit suite,” said Mr.Nambiraj.

Aspiring candidates may contact 0462–2574265 or 94434 18444 between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m.
