Five held

Five persons were arrested for alleged online gambling carried out in a lodge on Theni Main Road near Kalavasal on Wednesday. Police said five persons from different parts of the city were using the internet facility in their mobile phone to play on a website. People who bought numbers for Rs. 12 were given Rs. 100 if they won in the game. Acting on a tip-off, S.S. Colony Inspector of Police K.T. Rajan Babu raided the lodge at 3 p.m. and arrested the five. The accused were booked under the Tamil Nadu Prize Schemes (Prohibition) Act, 1979.
