If you are planning to commence the construction of your ‘dream home’ despite the spiralling prices of construction materials and acute scarcity of river sand, you may visit a four-day exhibition to be organised by the Tirunelveli District Civil Engineers’ Association at Centenary Hall from Friday onwards.
Speaking to reporters here on Wednesday, office-bearers of the Tirunelveli District Civil Engineers’ Association said the fair, christened ‘Build Tech Expo 2018’, would give the visitors a fair idea about the construction materials to be displayed in 52 stalls in the Centenary Hall and 16 stalls on the campus.
The latest construction techniques being used by the civil engineers across the country, brick varieties, eco-friendly pre-pressed concrete blocks, wooden and synthetic doors and frames, bathroom and electrical fittings, power saving LED lights, flooring materials including a range of tiles, marbles and granite slabs, paints, steels, locks, traditional and electronic safes, wardrobes, interior decoration materials, modular kitchens etc. will be displayed.

“Moreover, good numbers of banks have been roped in to explain in detail about housing loans. Visitors can interact with the experts between 6 p.m. and 9 p.m. to clear their doubts on construction of houses and commercial buildings,” S.K. Syed Mohamed Bhukari, president of the Association said.
While Deputy Commissioner of Police (Law and Order), Tirunelveli City Suguna Singh will inaugurate the expo, Collector Sandeep Nanduri and Dean, Anna University’s Tirunelveli Regional Campus G. Sakthinathan will participate in the valediction to be held on Monday at 7 p.m.
