The State government was making efforts to bring in more investments into Tamil Nadu by way of introducing many industry-friendly measures. About 50 to 60 clearances had been prescribed with clear time line in the Business Facilitation Act, said Neeraj Mittal, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Tamil Nadu Industrial Guidance and Export Promotion Bureau.
Addressing businesspersons organised by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) on the topic, ‘Ease of doing business in Tamil Nadu - a leap forward,’ here on Saturday, he said, still these reformatory measures needed steam and technological expertise to translate into action.
The government was working on publishing an Industry Inspection Report online within 24 to 48 hours after inspecting each private company. A system would be in place where factories will be checked by different Inspectors to prevent owner-inspector rapport. Mr. Mittal said the State government had uploaded data on plot availability at State Industries Promotion Corporation of Tamil Nadu (SIPCOT). The idea was to make Tamil Nadu to the top of the Ease of Doing Business ranking this year, he said.

K Hari Thiagarajan, Vice-Chairman, CII-Tamil Nadu, said the forum was working closely with Central and State governments with a view to helping the States register a sustained improvement in the ranking and point the lacuna in the policies.
