The 25-day-long boycott by lawyers came to an end here on Saturday after the State government sanctioned Rs.37.09 crore for construction of a combined court complex and quarters for 12 judicial officers in Dindigul.
A 7.5 per cent of cost escalation has been allowed against the request of 10 per cent. Along with Dindigul, the State Government has also sanctioned Rs.97.90 for construction of combined court complex, buildings for other courts and judicial officers’ quarters at various places in the State.
Funds were sanctioned for construction of combined court complexes in Tiruchi, Villupuram, Cheyyar in Thiruvannamalai district, Thiruthuraipoondi in Tiruvarur district, Sattur in Virudhunagar district, quarters for additional district munsif at Ulundurpet and Villupuram, subsidiary courts in Musiri, district munsif courts and quarters at Kodumudi in Erode district and Portonovo in Cuddalore, new court buildings for Sivagiri and quarters for 10 judicial officers in Tirunelveli, and Sirkazhi in Nagapattinam district, building for central record room in Villupuram, for subsidiary court and quarters for judicial officers in Saidapet, Chennai, and Karur.

The order said funds could not be sanctioned for construction of VIP guest house at Thuraiyur, Ulundurpet and Dindigul since Centrally sponsored scheme guidelines did not provide for the same.
