DINDIGUL
More than 200 people participated and showcased a wide range of traditional recipes at the season 2 of The Hindu ‘Our State, Our Tasts’ cooking contest at Parsons Court Hotel here on Sunday.
After the overwhelming response to the show last year, the event was extended to Dindigul this year. A panel of expert judges including celebrity chef Damu, went about tasting the recipes showcased to select the winners.

“I was surprised to see and taste such a colourful variety of recipes. A lot of them had taken the extra effort to showcase traditional recipes, using native ingredients. Dindigul has always been known as the biryani city and tasty food items. The contest has only proved the culinary skills of Dindigul people,” said Mr. Damu.
G. Sashi who emerged the winner had taken part in all the legs of the contest at Coimbatore, Erode, Madurai and Dindigul. D. Rajam and R. Rumana were judged the first and second runners-up.
The contest was presented by Vidiem, powered by Savorit and R.K.G. Ghee and co-powered by Fortune Sunflower Oil.

The grand finale of the contest will take place in Chennai where one participant will be crowned with the title ‘Master Chef of Tamil Nadu.’
