The alumnae of Lady Doak College, the first college for women in the city, were taken back in time as they walked through the familiar corridors of their alma mater. The Alumni Association gathered for its annual meet on Saturday with over 600 retired professors, serving professors and old students.
The event began with a gathering at their respective departments also featured a carnival.
“It is great to look at everyone coming together. We went to our classrooms and discussed old times and memories,” said A. Prasiddha from the batch of 2003-04. S. Priya, who is a businesswoman, said that she felt younger after visiting the college.

“In our heydays, the college excelled in sports, music and academics. I am sure the tradition continues,” she said.
The organising team said that Vice-Principal Rachel Regi Daniel came up with the idea of hosting a ‘Grand Carnival’ on campus.
“This is the second edition of the carnival. This year, we have 95 stalls. This is to engage the alumnae so that they stay on campus for a bit longer,” said Kajal J. Mehta, secretary of the Alumni Association.

Some old students from the Tamil department performed for the audience. The Principal also spoke on the long-term vision of the college.
