Change in train timings following fishermen agitation in Madurai

The Southern Railway has announced that the following trains are being cancelled, rescheduled or regulated due to agitations by fishermen in the section between Rameswaram and Ramanathapuram.

According to an official press release, Train Number 56726 scheduled to leave Rameswaram at 6 p.m. on October 30 has been fully cancelled.

Four trains have been rescheduled. Train Number 16102 Rameswaram – Chennai Egmore Express which was scheduled to leave Rameswaram at 5 p.m. on October 30 has been rescheduled to leave at 9 a.m. on October 31. Train Number 16714 Rameswaram – Chennai Egmore Sethu Express scheduled to leave Rameswaram at 8 p.m. on October 30 has been rescheduled to leave at 9.30 a.m. on October 31.

Train Number 22621 Rameswaram – Kanyakumari Express which was scheduled to leave Rameswaram at 8.45 p.m. on October 30 has been rescheduled to leave at 10 a.m. on October 31.

Train Number 56724 Rameswaram – Madurai Passenger scheduled to leave Rameswaram at 5.35 a.m. October 31 has been rescheduled to leave at 10.30 a.m. on the same day.

Two trains have been regulated and partially cancelled. Train Number 56725 Madurai – Rameswaram Passenger which left Madurai at 6.05 p.m. on October 30 has been regulated/short terminated at Manamadurai and is partially cancelled between Manamadurai and Rameswaram.

Train No.16734 Okha – Rameswaram Express scheduled to arrive Rameswaram at 7.45 p.m. on October 30 has been regulated/short terminated at Ramanathapuram and is partially cancelled between Ramanathapuram and Rameswaram, the official release said.
