Seminar on entrepreneurship
The Department of Economics of Yadava College organised a seminar on the ‘Scope of entrepreneurship’ recently. College principal M. Sekar presided over the event. P. Kannadas, the chief guest for the event, elaborated the students on how technology can foster entrepreneurship. He encouraged students to develop their entrepreneurship skills and set up their own businesses. Vote of thanks was delivered by Aravind Annamalai.

Awareness programme on breast cancer

ULTRA College of Engineering and Technology organised an awareness programme on breast cancer on October 19. College principal K. R. Ramela welcomed the resource person A. Malarvizhi, Assistant Professor, Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, Vinayaka Mission’s Research Foundation, Salem. In her speech, Ms. Malarvizhi explained the existence of more than 200 types of cancer. She also emphasised that a significant number of breast cancer cases are reported in the country. She also spoke about the signs and symptoms associated with breast cancer and urged women to undergo breast cancer screening regularly. She said that adopting healthy lifestyle practices can help in minimising the risk factors associated with breast cancer.
Art of writing a research paper
The Internal Quality Assurance Cell of Mangayarkarasi College of Arts and Science for Women organised a one-day workshop on ‘The art of writing a research paper” on November 7. K. Karthikeyan, Principal, Amman College of Arts and Science, Dindigul, was the chief guest for the event. C. Jestina Jeyakumari, IQAC Coordinator, delivered the welcome address and College principal S. Rajeswari presided over the event. Mr. Karthikeyan explained the process involved in the publication of a research paper. It was an interactive session and students clarified their doubts. He also spoke on how to publish a research paper online along with citations.

Two-day fest at school
Maharishi Vidya Mandir Senior Secondary School, Kovilpapakudi, celebrated ‘Jeyavarshini’, a two- day annual programme for students to exhibit their talent, from November 8. P.Kalai Selvi, Professor, Department of Commerce, Fatima College, was the chief guest for the first day.
Elocution, fancy dress competition, skit, dance competitions were held. M. Saravanan, Managing Director and Chairman, RIO Children and Maternity Hospital, F. Sathiya Raj, Deputy Director, PCRA and School Chairman M.S. Vadivelu were the chief guests for the second day. Cultural programmes were held on both days.
