Young graduates need not be job seekers and instead become job creators, said Madurai Kamaraj Unviersity Vice-Chancellor P.P. Chellathurai, while delivering the convocation address at The American College here on Saturday.

He said they could make better use of initiatives such as ‘Make in India’ of the Union government to become entrepreneurs. Advising the graduates to pursue ideas that others considered difficult, he said, “the altitude of your success is determined by the magnitude of your efforts.”

Stating that 44 % of youngsters in Tamil Nadu were enrolling in colleges compared to the national average of around 25 %, he urged the graduating students to use education as a tool to transform themselves and the society.
