Attempt to murder woman, daughter

Kottampatti police have registered a case of attempt-to-murder against two persons who are charged with knocking down a two-wheeler with a car with a motive to kill a woman and her daughter on Madurai-Tiruchi four-way highway on Monday.

The police said that the victims, D. Gandhimathi (39) and her daughter, have been admitted to Government Rajaji Hospital with injuries.

Money transaction

The police said that K. Veerapandi had a dispute with Ms. Gandhimathi over money transaction. When Ms. Gandhimathi and daughter were riding the two-wheeler at Kadampatti junction around 2.30 p.m., Veerapandi and his younger brother Pandi hit the two-wheeler with their car with the intention of killing them, the police said.

The two, along with the car, were absconding, the police said.
