AIADMK councillor's son held

J. Jeyakumar, son of the Madurai Corporation's AIADMK councillor (ward 15), J. Jeyalakshmi, was arrested for assaulting a 55-year-old man, M. Raghuramarajan, at S.S. Colony, on Saturday.

The police said that Raghuramarajan had let out six houses at S. S. Colony. Jeyalakshmi was residing in one of the houses.

They had long standing dispute over ownership of the dwelling units.

Meanwhile, Raghuramarajan had gone to one of the vacant houses to clean it on Friday morning.

Jeyakumar had prevented him and assaulted him, the police said. Raghuramarajan has been admitted to a private hospital.

The S.S. Colony police have booked Jeyakumar for abusing, assaulting and threatening the aged man with dire consequences.
