A huge model of ‘kalpaviruksham’ at a Navarathri ‘kolu’ organised by Prajapita Brahma Kumaris Ishwarya Vishwa Vidyalaya at Andalpuram here emphasises the need for universal peace.
The ‘kolu,’ conducted since September 27, had attracted more than 500 visitors so far, said Shenbagavalli, an organiser. The ‘Kalpaviruksham’ has illustrations of not just Hindu Gods delivering message of peace but those from other religions as well. “All religions preach peace. Having positive and peaceful thoughts is important in today’s world and we are trying to spread the message through the ‘kolu’ here,” she said.
“This year, we have made a unique model of the sleeping Kumbakarnan. His sleep is likened to the ignorance prevailing in the minds of people. We have signified that god intervenes and dispels the ignorance,” she said. Organisers explain to the visitors the importance of nurturing the rich cultural and spiritual history of India, a large part of which remains unexplored.

K. Rengaraj, a visitor, said, “The kolu is different from others because of its theme of how a virtuous world can be heaven.”
A Class eight student of Mangayarkarasi school, P. Indhu, said she visited the ‘kolu’ every day, impressed by the concept.
