Collector M. Karunakaran distributed farm equipment worth Rs. 8 lakh to two beneficiaries and orders for getting old age pension to 59 beneficiaries during the mass contact programme held at Kalakkad and Chokkampatti in the districts on Thursday.
In the event held at Kalakkad, Dr. Karunakaran handed over Rs. 10,000 each to 25 beneficiaries under the Farmers’ Social Security Scheme (FSSS), orders for getting monthly old age pension of Rs. 1,000 to 12 senior citizens and a mini tractor and rotavator at subsidised cost to two persons in the presence of Sub-Collector, Cheranmahadevi, V. Vishnu. He also handed over free house site pattas to six persons and new ration cards to four beneficiaries.
In the mass contact programme organised at Chokkampatti, the Collector distributed old age pension orders to 47 persons, new ration cards to 29 persons, Rs. 10,000 each to 7 agriculturists under the FSSS.
