Power cut at night

There is frequent power cut during midnight in Ramanathapuram town. Stoppage of power supply has become a rule rather than an exemption. Once power cut occurs, it takes another one hour to resume sleep. Our sleep is badly affected as power supply is not restored for a long stretch of time. Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation should take remedial steps to ensure uninterrupted supply of electricity during night hours in Ramanathapuram town.

Waste in river

People living on the banks of the Vaigai in Paramakudi have dumped their building materials and garbage inside the river. It will affect the free flow of water during monsoon. I request the authorities concerned to stop the dumping of waste in the Vaigai and protect it against pollution.

Bend in highway

The highway originating from Tiruppattur to Melur has 27 bends. If these bends are straightened, it will reduce the distance and time of travel. Though a survey to lay a rail line from Karaikudi to Madurai, via Tiruppattur, was undertaken in 1967, no progress has been made so far. Hence both these issues should be addressed immediately in the interest of residents of Tiruppattur and Karaikudi.

Tiruppattur.
