‘Tex Tech Show,’ a three-day expo featuring state-of-the art machinery in the textile and garment sector, kicked off in the city on Friday. It features around 100 stalls.
The main focus of the expo is on value addition like embroidery stones and studs, says H. Krishna, managing director of City Leaves Media Events, a concern that is solely focussed on textile sector.
An industrialist can find a whole gamut of machinery under one roof in this expo. Right from ironing, sewing, dying to packing, and a whole lot of equipment could be found here. Customers can also place orders right at the expo itself, he adds.

According to M. Mahendran, also a managing director of City Leaves, Madurai took to the textile sector earlier than Tirupur, while the latter now exports to the tune of Rs. 15,000 crore, Madurai has fallen behind despite having a large pool of workforce.
This was mainly due to its lack of modern technology. His expo provides an opportunity to garment manufacturers to upgrade and augment their entire production process. The firm had organised such expos earlier at Karur, Tirupur, Kochi, and Chennai, he said.
The venue of the expo is P.T. Rajan Mahal at Chokkikulam. It would be open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Entry is free and the expo concludes on Sunday.
