Tyre major Bridgestone has inaugurated its second Select Super Concept store in Madurai. They have 22 such stores across the country and the first store was inaugurated in Bangalore in May 2011 and the response to these concept stores was good.
Hiromi Tanigawa, Managing Director, Bridgestone India, inaugurated the store Manickam Company on Saturday and told the newspersons that safety, reliability and eco-friendly are the major keywords behind these concept stores, through which the brand presence would be enhanced and this will also create a strong retail identity and in the process will make Bridgestone products accessible to a much larger number of consumers.
He further said that Bridgestone’s Indian market share is 25 to 30 per cent and the company plans to emerge as the market leader. “In 2010 we planned to reach a target of producing 10,000 passenger car tyres and 3,000 truck tyres per day by March 2020 but looking at the growth we are advancing the target by three or four years.”

Keeping in mind the growth of Indian economy, we are following a strong and aggressive strategy to expand the market; the new factory in Pune is expected to be opened by the beginning of next year, he said.
“The tyres at Bridgestone are specifically made for Indian roads keeping in mind the wear and tear. We will soon be opening such concept stores at Coimbatore, Chennai and Tiruchi”, he added. S. Venkitachalam, Deputy Manager, Sales, South and P. Prabhu, store owner Manickam Company were present during the inauguration.
