Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited has announced an offer for its landline customers under which unlimited free calls could be made to any network’s mobile and landline on all Sundays from August 15, Independence Day.
According to a release from K. Sajju George, General Manager, Nagercoil Telecom District, this offer would be in addition to the popular night hour scheme announced earlier, where the subscribers could make free calls to any network between 9 p.m. to 7 a.m. every day. Subscribers who hade issues regarding reconnection could avail the facility by clearing their dues at special reconnection camps which would be conducted on every Saturday from August 20 for spot settlement and reconnection.
The first camp would be held in Kuzhithurai Telephone Exchange and the next at Thuckalay Telephone Exchange on August 27.

The camps would be held in other areas also. Subscribers could also contact the nearest customer service centre for availing the facility.
Customers who opt for a new landline within 90 days from August 15 would only have to pay a fixed monthly charge of Rs. 49, while the installation charges of Rs. 500 would be waived. After six months, the plan would be upgraded to general monthly rental charges applicable to the concerned area. For registration of new landlines and for further queries, the customers could visit the nearest BSNL Customer Service Centre or Call 04652 279666 for availing the services at their doorstep, Mr. George said.
