A total of 2,500 candidates appeared for the District Educational Officer (DEO) examination conducted by the Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC) on Sunday.
Officials said that 4,400 candidates had originally enrolled to sit for the exam. The exam was conducted in 17 centres in the district.
