Sri Lankan Navy team on visit to SNC

Avenues to strengthen cooperation between the two navies to be explored

Vice Admiral Anil Kumar Chawla, Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Southern Naval Command, and Commodore A.K.M. Jinadasa of the Sri Lankan Navy exchanging mementoes in Kochi on Friday.

A six-member delegation from the Sri Lankan Navy, headed by Commodore A.K.M. Jinadasa, who is Commandant of Sri Lanka's Naval and Maritime Academy, is visiting Southern Naval Command (SNC), Kochi, and the Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala, from January 21 to 26.

The delegation discussed aspects related to training of Sri Lankan officers in India and also further avenues to strengthen training cooperation between the navies.

The delegation called on Vice Admiral Anil Kumar Chawla, Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Southern Naval Command, and visited training units such as the Anti-Submarine Warfare School, Maritime Warfare Centre, Diving School, Navigation Direction School, and INS Dronacharya.
