The teaching community must discover and nourish the inborn talents of children, Minister for Excise K. Babu has said.

Children and youth must be given opportunities to think and act freely, away from the stress of academics, he said at the SRV School here on Thursday after inaugurating the Revenue District School Science, Social Science, Maths, Work Experience and IT Fair 2011-12.

Mr. Babu added that developments in science must be used for the betterment of the masses. In his address, Dominic Presentation, MLA, said that members of the society must not be like the character portrayed by Thilakan in the film ‘Sphadikam', where he does not encourage his son's talents and tries to stifle it.
