May 21, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:41 am IST - KOCHI:

Human Rights Commission chairman J. B. Koshy has asked the Tripunithura Government Ayurveda Medical College authorities to provide basic facilities to patients and students so that patients reaching the hospital for treatment do not go back with urinary infections.

Mr. Koshy had sent his orders to the Director, Medical Education director, Director, Indian Systems of Medicine, Executive Engineer (Buildings), Public Works Department, District Collector and the Principal of the Ayurveda Medical College and Superintendent of the medical college hospital in view of media reports indicating unhygienic conditions in the medical college hospital and hostel.

Worms were reportedly found in the water supplied at the women’s hostel and many hostel inmates had contacted urinary infection, said Mr. Koshy about the complaints regarding the medical college.
