Nurses hold agitation

: Nurses at the Government Medical College, Ernakulam, held a protest in front of the administrative block of the institution against the suspension of three nurses.

Leading the protests against a unilateral enquiry in the medical college with regard to an infant death were nurses under the Trained Nurses Association of India. Prof. Renu Susan Thomas, inaugurated the protest as the president of central zone, Prof. Philomina Jacob, presided over the event.

Prof. Thomas said a comprehensive enquiry should be held by a panel that should have a senior nurse too.

Nurses are united in the cause and nurses should not be made the scapegoat of a problem in any institution, she said.
