Navy chief arrives on maiden visit to SNC

Admiral Karambir Singh, Chief of the Naval Staff, being received by Vice Admiral A.K. Chawla, Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Southern Command, in Kochi on Friday.

Admiral Karambir Singh, Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS), is on his maiden visit to the Southern Naval Command in the city after assuming charge.

At 11 a.m. on Friday, the Admiral was received by Vice Admiral A.K. Chawla, chief of the Southern Command, at the Naval Air Station INS Garuda.

Admiral Singh was given an overview briefing on the command, which was followed by visits to various training schools and facilities at the Naval Base. There were interactions with officers and civilian employees.

The Admiral is slated to visit INS Dronacharya (including the Naval Maritime Museum) at Fort Kochi on Saturday.

He will have a glimpse of various environmental and welfare activities undertaken by the command besides an interaction with sailors. The CNS is slated to leave Kochi on Saturday.
