Mobile Onam markets launched

Minister for Civil Supplies Anoop Jacob has said that district collectors have been directed to intensify raids to check black marketing and hoarding during the festival season.

Talking to reporters at the district-level launch of the mobile Onam market introduced by the Kerala State Civil Supplies Corporation (Supplyco) here on Saturday, Mr. Jacob said that stern action would be taken against hotels which fail to display the price list. Earlier, the Minister launched two mobile Onam markets of Supplyco in the district. Every district has been allotted two mobile Onam markets each. They will have all items that are available at Maveli stores.

While deploying mobile units, preference will be given to areas without Supplyco outlets.

The route of operation of mobile markets will be publicised in advance through the media. The mobile markets will have a halt of 30 minutes at each stop.
