In an attempt to fast-track the driving licence procedure for differently abled and to reduce the delay caused by multiple visits to secure a licence, the district administration will hold a special medical camp and a medical board sitting at the Muvattupuzha mini civil station block office on Wednesday at 10 a.m.
Differently-abled persons from the Muvattupuzha Regional Transport Office limits looking to secure driving licences may make use of the camp. Registration for the camp will begin at 9 a.m.
Those who have already secured the medical board certificate may apply for fitness certificate while fresh applications may also be made for securing the medical board certificate.

Arrangements will also be made for conducting eye test, which is mandatory while applying for driving licence. Certificates will be issued to maximum number of applicants on the same day itself. Services of Akshaya centre will be arranged for those who already have fitness certificate to apply for licence. Participants at the camp should produce identity documents and photos besides the driving licence fee.
It will be the first such exclusive sitting to be held in the district for the purpose after similar camps in Kannur, Malappuram and Idukki districts. District Medical Officer N.K. Kuttappan has assigned the service of six specialist doctors – ENT, orthopedist, physician, ophthalmologist, optometrist, physiatrist – for the medical board meeting.
