The Ernakulam block committee of the Kerala Students Union on Monday staged a protest at the metro rail construction site near Maharaja’s College ground accusing the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) of failing to keep its promises while occupying the land. The protestors alleged that DMRC had promised to renovate the college ground and a hostel while taking over 16 cents of land belonging to the college. Construction works of the metro railway were disrupted for some time following the protest.
