The charge against the convict was that he raped his 14-year-old daughter in April 2009 at the bedroom of their house and later forced her into the flesh trade.

The court had found him guilty of offences under section 376 (rape), and one-year imprisonment under section 506 (1) (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code.

He was also sentenced to undergo six month simple imprisonment under section 23 of the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act.

In its judgment, the court observed that charge of raping his own daughter “under his refuge and fortress” was worse than the game-keeper becoming a poacher and treasury guard becoming a robber”.
