: Muhammad Aslam and Zegam Abbas, the two persons arrested from Lucknow last week by the Central Bureau of Investigation in connection with tampering of results of the Common Admission Test (CAT), were brought to Kochi on Sunday.
The duo, brought to Kochi on a transit warrant from a local court in Uttar Pradesh, was interrogated by the CBI officials.
They will be produced before the Ernakulam Chief Judicial Magistrate Court on Monday.

The duo, both employees of the Career Guardian Company in Lucknow, had been absconding since the admission test fraud came to light in 2013.
Marks manipulated
Investigations so far have revealed that it was Aslam, who acted as mediator between Career Guardian and Muhammad Aafaque, the data entry operator, who tampered with the mark list published on the IIM website. Meanwhile, Abbas, who was the marketing agent of Career Guardian, collected money from students by offering to increase their scores in the CAT examination, conducted by the Kozhikode IIM.

The duo had collected money ranging between Rs. 2 lakh to Rs. 15 lakh from nearly 80 students for increasing their scores in the CAT examination.
Earlier, the CBI had arrested Aafaque, who is the kingpin of the racket that manipulated the marks of about 80 candidates who appeared for the exam.
