Held on charge of abusing minor

Kunnathunad police have arrested a 25-year-old person on the charge of abusing a minor. The arrested was identified as Asgar Ali, a native of Assam.

The girl had been residing with the accused since March last year and was allegedly lured into a sexual relationship on the pretext of love by the accused, the police said. Acting on a complaint by the girl, who was impregnated by the accused, the police have registered a case under provisions of the POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences) Act against the accused.
