Birders of Kerala will join enthusiasts across the world for a four-day Great Backyard Bird Count (GBBC) starting Friday.

It is estimated that around one lakh bird enthusiasts will look for birds this time globally and upload the information online from February 13 to 16.

Last year, over 1,000 bird watchers recorded the presence of over 800 species from the country. In Kerala, the event witnessed 319 bird watchers joining the campaign leading to the identification of 280 species.
