Four more held in drug seizure case

Information from DJ Kokaachi lead to the arrest of four more persons related to the drugs seized at a DJ party.

The police have arrested four more persons in connection with the seizure of drugs during a DJ party in Kochi last week.

The accused have been identified as Vaseem, 28, Muhammed Shabeeb, 26, Jannath, 25 and Shafaz, 27, all hailing from Kozhikode. They were arrested in Coimbatore on Friday night based on information received from Midhun C. Vilasan, alias DJ Kokaachi, who has been under the police custody.

The four had left to Bangalore on knowing that the police team was after them and they were taken into custody on their way from Bangalore.

According to the police, Vaseem, who had been working as an interior designer as well as a DJ in Qatar, allegedly supplied the drugs to Midhun.

“On a direction from Midhun, an eight-member team from Kozhikode left to Kochi in Vaseem’s car to attend the party. They however, did not bring the drugs inside the party hall and instead kept it inside their car fearing policemen in plainclothes,” the officials said.

During the raid, the police had also frisked these eight persons. They later handed over the narcotics to Midhun at his apartment near Kakkanand.
