A programme organised by Oneness, a voluntary agency, in collaboration with the Kochi Corporation to find homes for homeless animals evoked good response. As many as 35 puppies and 35 kittens were adopted at the event organised at Rajendra Maidan.

Oneness is a group of volunteers involved in the rescue and rehabilitation of stray animals. The volunteers had earlier come up with over 500 earthen bowls to provide water to stray animals and birds.

The objective of the pet adoption programme was to create awareness about homeless local breeds and encourage people to adopt them, said Ashwini Prem of Oneness.
