Alan Thelliyil Augustine, hailing from Payyannur, has secured the first rank in the Common Admission Test conducted by the Cochin University of Science and Technology (Cusat) for its B.Tech. programmes for the ensuing academic year. The results were announced here on Tuesday.
He secured the first position from among 24,651 students who took the test. A total of 19,449 have made it to the rank list, said a statement.
Anand U. R. from Thaikkattukara, Ernakulam, secured the second rank and Noel Agusutine from Nedumkandam in Idukki district came third. Akshay Kumar K. K. from Chalidssery in Palakkad stood first among SC candidates. Nishal Thampan from Thrikkakara, came in the second place in the category. From among the ST candidates, Gautam S. Raj of Edappally, Ernakulam, and Prajwal I. Naik from Talap in Kannur secured the first and second ranks respectively.

The university said that details of the results will be available on the university website cusat.nic.in from 12 noon of May 28. Options can be registered from May 28 till June 7. Counselling and admission to the B.Tech. programmes will commence in the last week of June.
