: CREDAI, the apex body of builders, urged the government to intervene and bring about an end to the quarry strike in the State.
The strike had bought the construction industry to a halt, it said.
A release quoted Haseeb Ahmed, chairman, CREDAI Kerala, as stating that more than 500 projects across the State had been hit and lakhs of labourers were jobless.

The government was losing revenue on account of the strike as construction activity, including that of Kochi Metro, has come to a grinding halt.
