Quantum of the Seas-the largest cruise ship that has ever docked at an Indian port left here on Friday after a two-day stopover.
The 18-deck German-built vessel owned by Royal Carribean International brought in around 4,000 guests from around the world, including 300 Indian nationals.
The 350-metre-long ‘floating city’ weighing 1,67,800 tonnes resembled a dozen apartment clusters on Kochi’s Marine Drive. The expansive interiors would give the best of hotels a run for their money.

The ship is on a 14-night Dubai-Singapore cruise and its next port of call is Penang.
The ship boasts expansive staterooms, game-changing technologyand the best of cuisine at the vessel’s 18 restaurants.
The average per head daily tariff is anywhere between $200 to $1,000, depending on duration of voyage and the season.

“One will not find this much of entertainment even in Las Vegas,” the vessel’s captain Srecko Ban told the media after a Dance in a Box session telecast through robo screens in a $36 million arena.
Senior port officials formally welcomed the guests and crew to Kochi.
The visitors checked out heritage locales in the vicinity like Fort Kochi, Mattancherry, Vaikom, Alappuzha and Kumarakom. They toured the city in buses, taxi cars and autorickshaws.
