The Kerala Bar Council has set up a three-member panel headed by advocate N. Nagaresh to look into recent instances of lawyers interacting with the media, especially the visual media, and lay down a code of conduct.

The panel was formed after recent instances in which lawyers spoke to the media in ways that impinged on the client-advocate relationship and appeared to influence the course of cases in the courts, Bar Council sources said on Sunday.

A few media interactions bordered on misconduct, and the fraternity of lawyers expressed apprehensions about these developments, they said.
