Bar bribery case: CPI legislator moves HC

A writ petition was filed in the Kerala High Court on Monday seeking a directive to the investigation officer in the bar bribery case against Finance Minister K.M. Mani to arrive at an independent opinion on the basis of proof collected, without any external influence.

The petition was filed by CPI MLA V.S. Sunilkumar and another person. According to them, the Superintendent of Police, Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau, after registering the FIR had conducted a detailed investigation in the case.According to the petitioners, it was understood that the Superintendent had come to a conclusion that there was sufficient evidence against Mr. Mani.

The petitioners said a conspiracy was being hatched to scuttle the investigation report which had implicated Mr. Mani in the case.
