S. Sreesanth, arrested by Delhi Police on spot-fixing charges and released on bail on Tuesday evening, arrived in Kochi on Wednesday morning.

The cricketer was accompanied by his brother Dipu Santhan and close friend Jayan Thekkedath. He was mobbed by the media and onlookers as he came outside Cochin International Airport’s domestic arrival terminal.

Addressing the media, Sreesanth thanked God and everyone who supported him. “I am happy to be back home. The top priority is to see my parents,” he said.

He reiterated his innocence while expressing hope that it will be eventually proved and that he will get a clean chit. “I want to forget the last 27 days of my life. I will not want even my enemies to go through such harrowing time,” Sreesanth said.

He then left for his brother-in-law and singer Madhu Balakrishnan’s house at Tripunithura. His parents have been staying at Balakrishnan’s house since his arrest. He was given an emotional reception by his parents and relatives on his arrival at home.
