Around the world in 75 days

Globetrotting becomes as daunting as it is exciting when you set out to cover 27 countries in 75 days and that, too, in a car.

But ace director Lal Jose has set out on his most adventure project till date: Kochi to London in a car with two friends, writer and traveller Suresh Joseph and journalist Baiju. N. Nair.

The ambitious trip was flagged off on Monday at 10.30 a.m. jointly by a slew of celebrities from the tinsel world, including Nivin Pauly, Namitha Pramod, Bijibal, Anoop Menon, Najeem Arshad, Nadirshah and Sameera Sanish among others. The director’s family and relatives were also present.

The trio will cover countries in Asia and Europe and move along roads named after Mahatma Gandhi in Nepal, China, Kirgizstan, Kazakhstan, Russia, Finland, Poland, Italy, and Austria. By the time they reach London, they would have clocked 24,000 km.

The objectives of the trip include motivating travel and propagating the message of peace. Floral tributes will be paid to Gandhi statues along the route. Lal Jose has set out on the journey while the post-production work, of his new flick Vikramaditya is yet to be completed. Perhaps for the first time, the director will not be back at home for the release of his new movie.
