The Kochi chapter of Young Indians, the youth wing of the Confederation of Indian Industry, will soon go on a tree-planting drive. The programme is part of its initiatives on environmental protection. The focus will be on taking care of the trees on a long-term basis, according to Bhairavi Jani, national chairperson of the Young Indians.
The organisation is involved in nation-building activities for shaping up the future of India. A panel of students and youth engaged in various vocations have been selected to execute various tasks. The industry-backed body has been effectively executing social, industrial and cultural schemes with a view to creating a better future for the Indians as a whole, she told The Hindu . Spread across 25 cities with over 1,200 members, the organisation has 59 Yi student Networks. Farmers Net, a new wing, has also been created. Over 8,000 farmers have already become its members.
