Rise in fever cases in district

More cases of monsoon fever have been reported in the district. However, the numbers are not alarming, said R. Sudhakaran, district medical officer.

On Monday, there were 781 cases reported in the out-patient wings in hospitals across the district while 49 have been admitted to various hospitals for treatment. Diarrhoeal diseases reported were 88 in the out-patient wing and 16 in the in-patient wing. There were also isolated cases of chicken pox and measles in the district.

On Sunday, there were 323 cases of fever in the out-patient wings and 30 in the in-patient wings while there were 64 cases of diarrhoea of which 10 were admitted to hospital.
