Promote performing arts: Mukesh

Actor Mukesh assumed charge as chairman of the Kerala Sangeetha Nataka Akademi on Saturday.

He called for more efforts to promote performing arts in the State.

“Theatre gives immense satisfaction to the actor. The joy derived from theatre is much different from that accorded by cinema,” he said.

Revenue Minister K. P. Rajendran said the Revenue Department would provide land for constructing a memorial for Murali, actor and former chairman of the Akademi.

Cultural Affairs Minister M. A. Baby; Kerala Sahitya Akademi president P. Valsala; secretary Purushan Kadalundi and Kerala Sangeetha Nataka Akademi secretary Ravunni were present on the occasion.
