Popular mimicry, television and cinema artiste Raja Sahib alias Shuhaid, 35, was arrested by the Alappuzha South police on charges of sexual harassment. He was arrested from his residence in Kollam on Tuesday night and produced before an Alappuzha court on Wednesday. He was remanded in custody.

His accomplice, Dinesh Krishna alias Binu, 30, of Punnapra here, was also arrested, but let off on bail after questioning since he had obtained anticipatory bail from the High Court.

According to the police, Dinesh Krishna had given a lift on his car to a housewife whom he knew on May 22, 2006 and taken her to his residence at Punnapra, where she was given a soft-drink laced with drugs. Krishna allegedly raped her when she was unconscious and filmed the entire incident on his mobile phone. Raja Sahib, according to the police, reached Krishna's house at that time, and when he also attempted to rape the woman, she woke up and escaped from the house.
